Fast
Impressions uses Global Positioning
Systems to satisfy three major concerns of our company
and our clients. These areas are safety, impression data and audit.
What is Global Positioning?
Global
Positioning Systems (GPS) are space-based radio positioning systems
that provide 24 hour three-dimensional position, velocity and
time information to suitably equipped users anywhere on or near
the surface of the Earth (and sometimes off the earth). Global
Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) are extended GPS systems,
providing users with sufficient accuracy and integrity information
to be useable for critical navigation applications. The NAVSTAR
system, operated by the U.S. Department of Defense, is the first
GPS system widely available to civilian users. Fast Impressions puts
a GPS unit in every vehicle involved in a showing, which enables
us to provide crucial data and control to our clients.
How does the unit work?
The unit tracks your location every 4 minutes and collects your current latitude, longitude and speed. The data is stored on the hard disc of the unit, which is downloaded to
Fast Impressions' database after 30 days.
Where does it go?
The GPS unit will be put in your vehicle at the time of installation. The unit simply plugs into your cigarette lighter and the switch is turned to the on position. There is a magnetic antenna mount, which either is put on your dashboard or run out your window and mounted to your roof.
What do I do with the unit?
There is nothing you need to do to the unit. After your first 30 days you will be asked to pack the unit in it's original box and mail it back to
Fast Impressions. You will have already received a new unit via mail and all you need to do is plug it in and turn it on. |
